Bishop's Stortford Running Club ready to put 2019's beginners through their paces
Bishop’s Stortford Running Club is once again hosting its annual 10 weeks to 10k running course.
Head coach Mike Grant uses a proven method of running combined with walking intervals, and together with his team of UK Athletics qualified coaches puts runners through their paces.
In addition, some club members, often graduates of the course themselves, will run alongside the group to provide encouragement and build confidence at a pace comfortable to each runner.
The course finale is a run from the clubhouse to the edge of Hatfield Forest. After the 10-week course, guided groups at various paces/distances will take new recruits around different routes on local tracks and trails over the summer months, leading up to the target Takeley 10k in September.
The course is based at the BSRC clubhouse in Beldhams Lane, CM23 5LG. Sessions take place every Wednesday between April 3 and June 5 meeting at 7.15pm for the session from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
Suitable for absolute beginners capable of power walking for 30 mins and running the distance between two lampposts, the course also welcomes people with previous experience returning to running after a break.
For £75, beginners get ten coached sessions, plus membership of the running club for the full year from April 2019 to March 2020 plus a technical t-shirt, bespoke designed for the course. Takeley 10k entry is optional and is not included in the course fee.
