Good Samaritans stepped in to help a man who passed out close to Bishop’s Stortford railway station.
Alex Murdoch, who was making his way home, and two Greater Anglia staff found the man between Anchor Street and Station Road.
Mr Murdoch fetched a defibrillator from the nearby Nuffield Health pool and gym in case it was needed, and police and the East of England Ambulance Service were called.
It is believed that the man, who initially appeared to be “unconscious”, was intoxicated. He later moved to Station Road and was taken to hospital after the emergency services arrived.
