Goody bags are badge of honour for budding Sawbridgeworth designers

Two Sawbridgeworth boys were given goody bags filled with Christmas presents in celebration of their efforts in designing the town’s 2021 festive badge.

Sawbridgeworth Town Council ran a competition for children to design this year’s Christmas badge and the young artists were entered into a prize draw to win a bag of goodies, which included an Amazon Kindle.

Nine-year-old Rhys Bill and seven-year-old Stefan Babenco were the lucky winners of the prize draw.

A third winner, nine-year-old Elitsa Tsoneva, won the design element of the challenge.

Her creation will be made into badges and given out by Santa during the town council’s 2021 Christmas celebrations.

The mayor of Sawbridgeworth, Cllr Annelise Furnace, said: “It is super to have so many youngsters entering the town council’s competition to design a Sawbridgeworth Christmas badge – they have such fantastic and creative ideas.

“It is a real pleasure to look through all the designs and always difficult choosing just one winning badge.”
