Buy a brick! Grove Cottage turns to Bishop’s Stortford businesses to boost building appeal

Grove Cottage is appealing to businesses to buy a virtual brick and help the charity build its new headquarters.

Construction is already under way on the £2.5m project at London Road in Bishop’s Stortford.

Trustees have launched the “I’ve Bought a Brick” initiative to help raise £250,000 from firms to complete the purpose-built premises.

Businesses are encouraged to buy a brick at https://grovecottagebuyabrick.org.uk/ and film a short video announcing their support.

Every two weeks, Grove Cottage showcases these businesses across its social media platforms to celebrate their generosity and inspire more supporters to get involved.

So far, the campaign has raised £41,970, with contributions from companies including Alisped UK Ltd, DOC Cleaning Ltd, SFB Consulting and Hockerill estate agent Willmott & Lake.

Mina Pandya, community fundraiser at Grove Cottage, said: “The response has been amazing! Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to creating a brighter future for the people we support. We’re calling on more businesses to step up and get involved.”

Grove Cottage has provided social and educational activities for people of all ages with learning disabilities for six decades. The independent charity is affiliated with Mencap but receives no funding.
