A 51-year-old woman will appear in court on Monday (Feb 14) charged with the murder of a man in Harlow.

Rebecca Searing, of Ryecroft, Harlow, is due to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court. Detectives are continuing to investigate and have appealed for information.

Officers from Essex Police were called to an address in Ryecroft shortly before 2.20am on Saturday (Feb 12) after reports of an injured man in his 50s. Despite paramedics' efforts, he later died.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Clarkson, who is leading the investigation, said: “I know this will be concerning to people living in the Ryecroft area, but I don’t believe this incident poses a risk to the wider public. We’re not looking for anyone else in connection with it.

“A team of specialist detectives and staff are working to establish what led up to this man’s death and are making good progress.

“There’s likely to be a police presence at the scene today [Sunday] as we continue our enquiries.

“I need anyone who heard or saw anything, has any CCTV or doorbell footage or has any other information to contact us.”
