Hertfordshire worst in East of England for measles infections




Hertfordshire has the highest number of confirmed cases of measles in the East of England this year.

The infection figures were revealed at a meeting of Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (ICB).

A report to members said: “Data demonstrates that Hertfordshire has the highest number of laboratory-confirmed cases within the East of England – a total of 66 cases between January 1 and September 16. Essex reported 18 cases.

“In the four weeks after August 26, there have been six laboratory-confirmed measles cases in the East of England.

“Nationally, there is a downward trend in the number of cases reported since mid-July.”
