Follow the Nutcracker trail in Bishop's Stortford and win an iPad mini
Take the Nutcracker trail through Bishop's Stortford town centre this December for the chance to win an iPad mini.
The lifesize decorated soldiers, immortalised in the Tchaikovsky ballet based on Hoffmann's fairy tale The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, have been hidden around the commercial heart of the town.
The challenge to find all ten has been organised by the town's BID (Business Improvement District) to add festive spirit for families and follows the late-night Christmas shopping event on Thursday November 21.
BID manager Gina Thomas explained: "Located in all corners of the town, the idea is to discover each one and find out their names. Local schools and businesses have creatively named them.
"The nutcrackers will be in position until December 31, so there's no need to complete all in one day – take your time and find each one."
Entrants can pick up a free trail booklet from the Tourist Information Centre in Market Square or Jackson Square.
Gina said: "Inside the booklet you'll find a map showing you where they're hiding and a sheet to fill in. Simply find the names of all ten nutcrackers, complete the form and post it in the special post box located in Jackson Square."
One lucky all-correct entrant will be chosen at random and will win an iPad mini.
