A special tribute to the late poet Benjamin Zephaniah included a poignant reading of his work, Dis Poetry.

Musical selections spanned genres and eras, with performances inspired by stars such as Erykah Badu, Sam Cooke, Rihanna and Count Basie.

“We are incredibly proud of the creativity and passion our students displayed,” said principal David Woods.

“It was truly a night to remember, highlighting the rich tapestry of Black culture and history. The performances not only entertained but also educated, encouraging everyone to reflect on the importance of reclaiming narratives and celebrating diversity.”

The showcase also raised funds for Black Mothers Matter and East Herts Black Parents Assembly.
