Holy Trinity Night Shelter: Barratt Homes boosts charity for homeless with £1,500 donation

A housing developer has given £1,500 to Bishop’s Stortford’s charity for the homeless.

David Perry, manager of Holy Trinity Night Shelter and Community Outreach in South Street, said: “The donation will enable us to continue to provide trained volunteers to support our homeless people who are struggling.

“The whole year round, we aim to help guests and day clients to try to find a route out of homelessness.

“With the charity’s assistance, coaching, guidance and emotional support, our guests become more confident, less isolated and develop the life skills necessary to eventually support themselves.

“Working closely with the local council’s rough sleeper co-ordinator, we were able to accommodate and support 19 people last year and look forward to working with even more over the coming winter months.”

Marc Woolfe, director of sales and marketing for Barratt David Wilson North Thames, said: “It is fantastic to see organisations such as Holy Trinity Night Shelter supporting the local community by providing free specialised support and care for the homeless.

“As homebuilders ourselves, we hope our donation will assist the charity in providing its extraordinary and essential service to more people in the area who rely on it.”

The donation comes from the Barratt Foundation, the housebuilder’s charity partnership, which aims to support charities and groups wherever the developer operates across the UK.
