Hunt for M11 driver who left motorcyclist seriously injured

By Paul Winspear

Police investigating a collision on the M11 between Bishop's Stortford and Harlow are appealing for witnesses after a driver involved failed to stop.

Essex Police were called by East of England Ambulance Service colleagues shortly before 6.30am on Tuesday (May 14) with reports that a motorcyclist had been seriously injured in a crash with a black saloon car between junctions 8 and 7.

The motorcycle rider, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-changing injuries.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, which happened on the London-bound carriageway, or who was driving along the motorway at the time and has dashcam footage of the incident or in the lead-up to it.

Officers particularly want to speak to two people who stopped to help the motorcyclist.

Anyone with information is asked to call Essex Police's Chigwell roads policing unit on 101, quoting incident 120 of May 14. Information can also be given completely anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111 or visiting crimestoppers-uk.org
