Isabel Hospice appeals for three new trustees to guide charity’s future

Isabel Hospice is inviting three new trustees to join its board and help guide the charity.

Other desirable expertise includes people leadership, equality, diversity and inclusion, and investment and financial planning.

Chief executive Dr Helen Glenister said: “This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of an organisation that touches so many lives. We want to hear from passionate, engaged individuals who are ready to contribute their time, skills and ideas to a cause that truly matters.”

Chair of trustees Terry Philpott added: “Being a trustee is an incredibly rewarding way to give back.

“Helping shape the strategic direction of the hospice is a real privilege. We’re here to ask the important questions and ensure the charity is always acting in the best interests of our community.

“We’re proud to have a forward-thinking board, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and levels of experience.”

Isabel Hospice supports hundreds of patients and families each year through services including Hospice at Home, its in-patient unit at Welwyn Garden City, Living Well programmes, and family and bereavement support.

Like other charities, it relies on community support, legacy giving, fundraising and a network of retail shops for its £7 million annual running costs.

Applicants are invited to a drop-in session on Friday July 25, from 4pm to 6pm, at Isabel Hospice head office, 99 Bridge Road East, Welwyn Garden City, Herts AL7 1GD.

Email Terry.Philpott@isabelhospice.org.uk or Helen.Glenister@isabelhospice.org.uk for an informal chat. Interviews will take place on September 5 and 8.
