Isabel Hospice appeals for trained counsellors in Bishop's Stortford
The Isabel Hospice is urging qualified counsellors in Bishop's Stortford to volunteer their time to work within its family support team.
Last year the East Hert’s charity cared for 1,555 people and this year is planning to care for even more.
Bereavement services manager, Andrea Tett said that the good cause had seen an increase in those reaching out for counselling services since Princes Harry and William spoke out about how they were affected by the death of their mother.
She added that thanks to the Princes’ openness “it became more acceptable to seek
bereavement counselling which is a really good thing”.
The charity needs registered BACP members or equivalent with experience working with grief or bereavement to get in touch.
The counselling is offered in people’s homes throughout Bishop’s Stortford and East Herts by a mix of professional counsellors and trained bereavement support workers.
Volunteers will be provided with monthly clinical supervision and have all travel expenses paid.
