Jackson Square has revealed how its new TK Maxx store will look.

The Bishop’s Stortford shopping precinct is getting ready to welcome the designer discounter to a bespoke store incorporating the former Argos premises next to Wilko. It is set to open in 2022.

Before then, the shopping centre will have to be remodelled to accommodate the retail giant. The changes will also create space for five new retail and restaurant units.

Owner Legal and General has submitted a planning application to East Herts Council to transform its Bridge Street entrance and the square’s internal layout to make room for TK Maxx’s 21,009 sq ft (1,952 sq m) unit.

Centre manager Michael Smith said: “We’re very excited to release these images as it gives people the chance to really visualise TK Maxx in situ, especially now as we move onto the next phase of the process with submission of the plans.

“Our focus is very much about keeping our customers informed on every step of our renovation journey and ultimately encouraging them to share our vision of continuing to create a vibrant and relevant retail destination that sits at the heart of our town.”
