Lawrence Cash, 21, pleads guilty to car park thefts and attempted burglary at The Tuck Shop in Sawbridgeworth
A man has pleaded guilty to attempted burglary at The Tuck Shop in Sawbridgeworth and stealing a first-aid kit from the town council’s minibus.
Lawrence Cash, 21, also admitted theft from another vehicle when he appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Monday January 13.
He was charged with three offences committed on the same day last July. He broke into the minibus and smashed all four windows of a Mini Cooper, stealing sunglasses and an electric tyre pump, while both vehicles were parked at the Co-op, London Road.
He also caused extensive damage by trying to break into The Tuck Shop in Bell Street by kicking the door.
PC Shelly Marshall, from the Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth neighbourhood policing team, said: “These crimes were all committed on the same night, causing extensive damage and hefty repair bills for the victims.
“Cash was identified as a result of a DNA hit and subsequently arrested.
“We will always do everything we can to investigate crime, identify offenders and bring them before the courts.”
After his guilty pleas, Cash, of Anthony Close, Watford, is due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on May 16.
