Linden House closure ruins couple's wedding plans

A couple’s wedding plans are in ruins after discovering that the Stansted venue hosting their reception has closed down.

Lucy Oliver, 35, and Seth Coombs, 40, both mediums, are to marry at Stansted's Arthur Findlay College on April 16 next year and had booked Linden House on the corner of Chapel Hill and Silver Street to celebrate with 23 family and friends.

But it was only when guests revealed that they could not get in contact with Linden House to book rooms that she discovered there was a problem.

"It is soul-destroying, we have waited nearly two years to get married and we have heard absolutely nothing (from Linden House). They have never given us any warning, just played along like everything was OK and if it hadn't of been for my guests, we wouldn't have found out," said Lucy.

According to Companies House, the business was voluntarily wound up in May, but customers, including those who had purchased dining vouchers, were left in the dark.

The Indie was unable to reach Linden House for a comment.

Lucy, from Kent, said the spiritualist college where they will have a natural marriage ceremony was helping in their search for a reception venue, but being the Saturday before Easter, they were struggling to find anywhere.
