Man, 19, arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving after car stops on roundabout

Police arrested a 19-year-old motorist on suspicion of drink or drug driving after his car was discovered stationary on a roundabout in Bishop’s Stortford.

Officers attended the A1184 Bishop’s Park Way at around 9.40pm last Thursday (Nov 21) following reports of concern for the welfare of two people in the car.

A spokeswoman for Hertfordshire police: “It was reported that a Honda Civic had come to a stop on a roundabout.

“Officers attended and a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He has been bailed while enquiries continue.”

A 31-year-old man was given a community resolution order after he was seen smoking cannabis in the Market Square area.

Officers on patrol last Tuesday (Nov 19) at around 4.45pm searched the man and found and seized a small amount of cannabis.
