Man arrested after attempted distraction thefts from shops in Bishop’s Stortford




A man was arrested and taken into custody after reports of attempted distraction thefts from shops at Hockerill in Bishop’s Stortford.

Police were called at 11.44am on Friday (November 15) with reports of a crime in progress at Nail Diva in Riverside Walk, off South Street.

A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “It was reported that a man had been attempting to steal items from [hair and beauty salon] Amelia Rose on London Road and two further shops on Crown Terrace and Hockerill Street.

“Following fast-time enquiries, a man was arrested at 12.37pm in connection with the incident and was taken to custody for questioning.”
