A man has been arrested after another was stabbed in the street in broad daylight in Little Hallingbury.

The incident happened on the main A1060 road through the village soon after midday on Saturday (Dec 18).

The victim, in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment. The extent or severity of his injuries are not known.

A 22-year-old man from Harlow has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH (grievous bodily harm) and possession of an offensive weapon.

It is not clear from an Essex Police statement about the incident whether the two men involved were in vehicles or not, or whether they are known to each other.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Det Sgt Luke Howard, of Braintree CID, said: “The incident occurred in a very public place and we understand a number of vehicles had to slow down in order to avoid it.

“We are urging anyone who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to us to get in touch. In particular, we want to speak to people who may have dashcam footage of the incident.

“If you were in the area at the time and believe you can help our investigation, please get in touch.”
