Man taken to hospital as three people assaulted in violence in Bishop’s Stortford town centre
A man was taken to hospital by ambulance as three people were assaulted when night-time violence broke out in Bishop’s Stortford town centre at the weekend.
Police were called by the ambulance service in the early hours of Sunday (July 21) following reports of an assault in Station Road.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “It was reported that there was an altercation at around 2.20am and three people had been assaulted. One person was taken to hospital for treatment.”
A witness told the Indie that he had heard one man had suffered a fractured eye socket and another had sustained a fractured jaw after being attacked by “a large group of men”.
The East of England Ambulance Service sent one ambulance to the scene. A spokesman said: “One man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital [in Harlow] for further assessment and care.”
