A man pulled out a cheese knife during a confrontation in the street in Bishop’s Stortford.

Police were called on Monday September 20 at about midday following reports of an altercation between two men in The Causeway.

Insp Mark Collins, head of the Safer Neighbourhood Team for East Herts, said: “We arrested one person who had a cheese knife tucked into the waistband of his trousers.

“A knife was shown and he was waving it around when the police arrived to deal with him. Witnesses pointed out the offender who handed over the knife.”

He said the offender had gone to an address in The Causeway where an argument then spilled out onto the street. There had also been reports of a man throwing stones across the road.
