Bishop's Stortford Food Bank donations box stolen from St Michael's Mead by man driving Mercedes-Benz
A box of tins and packets of food destined for Bishop's Stortford Food Bank was stolen by a man driving a Mercedes-Benz.
The theft happened on the St Michael's Mead development in Stortford shortly before 10am on Wednesday (Nov 18).
A man driving a white Merc pulled up in Skinners Street, which links The Shearers and Milliners Way.
He made off with the box, which had served as a drop-off point for residents to make contributions to the food bank, which is based in Bishop's Stortford Methodist Church in South Street.
Police, who are investigating, were told by a witness that the thief had a dark beard and wore a high-visibility jacket.
It is not known how much produce was in the box.
