Motorists are being advised to give Sawbridgeworth a miss during Thursday's evening rush hour because of long queues after a car ended up on its roof in the centre of town.

Police were called to reports of an overturned Vauxhall Corsa on the A1184 London Road, outside the White Lion pub at the junction with Bell Street, just before 3.55pm today (Thursday 5 September).

The East of England Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle. One person was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow for further treatment.
