MP Josh Dean raises spirits at Bishop’s Stortford Breathe Easy Group fundraiser
Bishop’s Stortford’s MP Josh Dean boosted fundraising for the town’s Breathe Easy Group by donating a bottle of House of Commons whisky.
The mayor, Cllr Richard Townsend, auctioned the tipple and it generated £45 towards the organisation’s running costs for the next year. There was also a bumper raffle.
Around 50 people, including East Herts Council (EHC) vice-chair Cllr Martin Adams and fellow district and town councillor Yvonne Estop attended the coffee and cake event at South Mill Arts.
Cllr Diane Hollebon, an EHC member, is one of the founders of the group and she said: “All money raised from the event will go towards keeping the Breathe Easy Group running for another year.
“If you have any form of lung condition and would like to attend our monthly meetings, please see our website or contact me for further information.”
The group will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year. Affiliated to Asthma + Lung UK, it helps people in Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth with lung conditions to live better.
The group offers support, advice, friendship and fun at monthly meetings at the Charis Centre in Water Lane. For more details, see https://www.bsbeg.org.uk/programme-calendar.
