Dragon's egg at Bishop's Stortford primary school Windhill21 inspires pupils' creative writing

The mysterious appearance of a "dragon's egg" in the grounds of Bishop's Stortford's Windhill21 Primary School has inspired pupils' creative writing.

It also prompted a visit to the "cordoned off " area by police community support officer Deborah Mead to investigate further.

And the school asked "dragonologist" Jono Forgham, the Bishop's Stortford Independent's Nature Notes columnist and wildlife expert, for his opinion.

Jono visited the school last Thursday (April 22) to talk to children and read some of their stories about the exciting discovery.

Head Philippa Moore said: "I've visited writing lessons and have been overwhelmed by the engagement of the children and the standard of the outcomes."
