Naked man in full-face mask intimidates women near Thorley church

A naked masked man exposed himself to three women out walking a dog in Thorley – several hundred yards from where a similar incident happened six months ago.

The pervert – who wore only a white, full-face mask – struck last Wednesday evening (April 17) at around 8.10pm near St James the Great Church in Church Lane, which borders Southern Country Park.

He emerged from bushes and stood directly in front of one of the women. He stared at her before stepping back into the bushes.

Police were called. The women told officers that the man is white, aged 30-40 and of medium build.

It is the second such incident in the area in the last six months.

On Wednesday October 24 last year, in broad daylight, two 13-year-old girls were terrified when a naked man, wearing only a white leather mask, emerged from bushes near where they were hanging around in Southern Country Park and masturbated in front of them.

PC James Marshall said: "We are aware that similar incidents were reported to police locally towards the end of last year and we are keeping an open mind as to whether they are linked."

Police are appealing for the public's help in identifying the man. “Understandably this was quite a distressing incident and we are keen to trace the suspect as soon as possible," said PC Marshall.

“If you have any information which may assist our investigation please get in contact with police straight away.”
