New café Dada and kitchen showroom Kutchenhaus to open in North Street, Bishop’s Stortford

North Street’s revival as a food and drink destination continues with confirmation that a former shoe shop is to become an independent coffee house.

Dada Cafe is set to open at premises on the corner with Northgate End over the weekend of March 16-17.

The business already has a well-regarded branch in Station Road, Epping, and is recruiting staff for its new base in the former Deejay shop.

In the former White Stuff premises, home of the town’s iconic white hart mascot, the finishing touches are being put in place before No 14 Restaurant becomes the Kabayel family’s fourth eatery in Bishop’s Stortford, alongside its neighbour Roni’s, Pircio in Market Square and Rindio in South Street.

Elsewhere in North Street, the culinary theme is continuing with Kutchenhaus, the German kitchen brand’s arrival.

The business, which has branches across the country including Stevenage and Epping, will open a new showroom in the former Fordes Home premises.

The store closed last October and, in November, owner James Ford confirmed it would not reopen and he was retailing online instead.
