St Clare Hospice opens outlet shop at its donation centre in Bishop's Stortford
Savvy shoppers can grab a bargain at a new outlet shop opened by St Clare Hospice on the same site as its Bishop’s Stortford donation centre.
Based at The Links Business Centre, off Raynham Road, it is the charity’s ninth store and will stock end-of-the-range items, offering customers ‘last chance to buy’ deals on clothing, furniture and collectibles, with the majority of products on sale at half the original marked price.
It has been opened in response to feedback from people who have made donations and would also like to make a purchase. One half of the donation centre unit has therefore been converted into a retail space so visitors can drop and then shop.
St Clare’s head of retail, Fiona Eaton, said: “Our new Outlet Shop will offer the best bargains to eager thrift shoppers looking for a great deal.
"With a wide range of goods, from ladies and menswear to household goods and furniture, there's something for everyone – and with almost all stock at half price, all year round, there are some great buys to be had.”
It is open Mondays to Saturdays from 8am until 4pm.
Manager Aimee McKay said: “Our shoppers make a vital difference to St Clare Hospice and the people we serve. It is thanks to them that the hospice can continue helping those affected by life-limiting illnesses to have the best quality of life possible.”
The charity is recruiting volunteers to assist with running the shop, helping to sort and catalogue donations and provide good customer service.
