Hockerill Anglo-European College is to resume its popular foreign language classes for the community from September.

The Dunmow Road secondary's outreach programme for adults and primary school pupils was suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic but it is ready to relaunch sessions.

This autumn there will be French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese for primary school pupils.

For adults, beginner classes in French, German and Italian will run. Spanish will be offered at three levels: beginner, intermediate and conversation.

A spokesman for Hockerill said: "As a school with a strong emphasis on teaching foreign languages as well as providing access to, and generating appreciation of, other cultures, inviting younger students and adults from the local community into the college has always been an important element and point of contact for the college."
