New summer season takes off at Stansted Airport

The new summer timetable at Stansted Airport adds staycations and Scandinavian adventures to the options on offer.

On Sunday (March 26), Ryanair launched a three-a-week domestic service to Newquay in Cornwall while Widerøe began a twice-weekly route to Bergen in Norway.

From Thursday (March 30), Jet2 will be flying to Athens and Rome.

Several other new routes will begin in the coming weeks, including Ryanair flights to Edinburgh, Belfast, Asturias in Spain, Leipzig in Germany and Klagenfurt in Austria.

And from May 1 Emirates will start operating a second daily flight to Dubai.

With 180 European destinations, Stansted serves more scheduled connections to the continent than any other UK airport.
