The Cricketfield Lane school’s foundation stage team had been working towards the accolade for the last year.

The assessor commended the stage’s “exceptional” facilities and commented that “parents are extremely happy with the provision and see that their children are making progress in all aspects of their development”.

The class’ outdoor area received special praise as “one of the best [the assessor] had ever seen”.

The children celebrated the success with a water party, with each pupil receiving a sticker and certificate to mark the achievement.
