Bishop's Stortford's Windhill21 is offering parents of prospective nursery pupils a virtual introduction to the primary school.

Families can meet the head, class teachers and get insight from another parent by booking an online meeting.

Head Philippa Moore said: "In 'normal' times, Windhill21 would proudly welcome prospective nursery parents to come into school for a comprehensive tour and a lively, passionate presentation given by me and the assistant head Debra Price."

Before the coronavirus pandemic prevented visits to the school, parents would typically be shown around the school by Year 6 pupils, showing off the primary's cutting-edge teaching facilities such as the immersion room and Learning Zone.

Windhill21 is rated outstanding by Ofsted and the last inspection report noted: "Children get off to a superb start in the outstanding early years provision. Children in the nursery and reception classes learn quickly, often from low starting points. Highly skilled staff plan exciting learning activities both indoors and outside."

Online sessions will be held this Thursday (Feb 11) at 11.30am and 7.30pm and on Wednesday February 24 at the same times.
