Phone and broadband supplier EE closes shop in Bishop’s Stortford and directs customers to Harlow
Phone and broadband supplier EE has pulled out of Bishop’s Stortford, closing its shop and directing customers to Harlow.
The shop at 2b South Street was shuttered this week and had a sign in the window saying “We have a new home”.
It advises customers that they can “Find us at the Queensgate Centre, Harlow CM20 2DA next to Costa”, adding: “We’re a 20 minute drive away.”
That leaves three phone shops in the town: Vodafone next door to the closed EE shop, 3 in the Jackson Square shopping centre on the corner of Potter Street and O2 in Potter Street. Carphone Warehouse had a store further down South Street, but moved out to be replaced by pie and mash shop F Cooke.
O2 moved to the former Accessorize premises in October last year. The store, part of the Jackson Square retail centre, was empty for more than three years.
