Police appeal after officer carrying out arrest inquiries in Bishop’s Stortford is involved in ‘collision’ with car




Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a “collision” in Bishop’s Stortford involving a police officer and a car.

The incident happened in Archers Place, off South Street, at around 5pm on Wednesday 24 July and involved a plain clothes officer who was carrying out arrest enquiries.

A short time later, a man in his 30s from Stortford was arrested. He has since been released on police bail while enquires continue.

Det Con Michael Parker, who is investigating, said: “Thankfully the officer was not injured, and I am now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“Were you in the area at the time and saw what happened, or have any further information that may assist our investigation?”
