Fire crews from Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth called to Standon bungalow roof fire

Two crews from Bishop's Stortford and one from Sawbridgeworth were among firefighters called to a blaze in the roof of a bungalow in Standon early on Sunday morning.

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service's control room reported that crews – also including one from Buntingford and an aerial ladder platform from Stevenage – attended the incident after a 999 call was received at 5.06am.

One person was treated for smoke inhalation. After firefighters contained the fire it was fully extinguished by 11.47am.
