Opportunistic thieves in Bishop's Stortford steal contents from lorries
Underwater breathing apparatus was stolen from a lorry while the driver slept in the cab in Bishop's Stortford.
The driver was travelling from northern England to mainland Europe when he parked in London Road for an overnight rest last Friday and Saturday (Oct 25-26).
A thief slashed the lorry’s side curtain and took two pallets of diving equipment.
This is the second crime of this nature to be reported to police in recent weeks.
Ten pallets of medical stock were stolen from a lorry on Stortford’s Raynham Road industrial estate in the early hours of Monday, October 14 as the driver slept in the cab.
At some point between midnight and 5am, thieves slashed the vehicle's side curtain and took hundreds of boxes of tablets.
