Bishop’s Stortford funeral director Daniel Robinson and Sons takes children to Harlow Playhouse panto Dick Whittington in convoy of brightly decorated limos

Staff at a Bishop’s Stortford funeral director donned fancy dress for the firm’s annual children’s panto convoy.

The youngsters were ferried to see Dick Whittington at Harlow Playhouse in limousines decorated with bows and ribbons from Daniel Robinson & Sons, whose head office is in South Street.

The fun convoy on Saturday December 7 was for children who have suffered a difficult time recently due to family bereavement or illness. They were accompanied by their family and friends.

A spokesperson for Daniel Robinson said: “This year a family from Sawbridgeworth were guests in one of the 14 limousines in the convoy and the team from DRS made every effort to give them a wonderful day to remember – oh yes they did!”

The funeral director also organised a Carols and Candlelight remembrance service at Bishop’s Stortford Methodist Church, South Street.

The service was led by the Rev Gill Hulme, and civil celebrant Jo Moore read a poem. Soprano soloist Grace Oliver sang O Holy Night and The Little Road to Bethlehem.

A DRS spokesperson said: “It was a beautiful service where the congregation were able to light a candle in memory of their friends and loved ones and leave a personal message on the memory tree.”
