Peter Crouch, Joe Cole, David Bentley and Yaya Toure set to feature for Premier League All-Stars in charity match at Bishop’s Stortford on May 4

Film star Ray Winstone will manage a Premier League All-Stars XI in an annual charity match at Bishop’s Stortford Football Club on Sunday May 4.

The actor is set to be in the dugout as his squad of big-name players take on Hashtag United at the Blues’ RDA Stadium at Woodside, off Dunmow Road, to raise funds for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

Former top-flight players due to be involved include Joe Cole, David Bentley and Yaya Toure while Peter Crouch will be Winstone’s assistant boss on the day.

The annual contest is organised by the Charlie Dukes Fund, which was set up by Tottenham Hotspur kit man Steve Dukes in memory of his father, Charlie.

The fund has raised over £166,000 for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT), which attended to Charlie following a cycling accident, and has raised more funds for other local charities.

Winstone, who is an EHAAT ambassador, said: “Come along with your family, you’ll have a blinding day. I’ll see you there.”
