Police appeal for witnesses after bag theft at Bishop's Stortford Wetherspoon's pub the Port Jackson




Police have released a photo of a man they believe can help their enquiries following a bag theft from a Bishop’s Stortford pub.

Although the incident happened more than a month ago, at around midnight on Saturday September 12, Hertfordshire Constabulary released an appeal for help only on Friday (October 16).

The bag was taken from J D Wetherspoon’s Port Jackson pub in Riverside Wharf. Subsequently, a bank card in the bag was used in a fraudulent transaction.

Police Community Support Officer Mark Rippon, from the Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We believe the male pictured may have been in the pub at the time of the incident and that he could have important information that will assist our enquiries."
