Police recover stolen car after van towing it stops at Bishop’s Stortford petrol station





Police arrested two men after a van that stopped at a Bishop’s Stortford fuel station was found to be towing a stolen car.

Officers were called at around 9.55am on Tuesday (December 5) to reports of the suspected theft of a vehicle. It was reported that a Toyota Corolla, which was damaged, had been towed away by a van in suspicious circumstances.

When the van stopped at the Shell garage in Stansted Road, police attended and it was ascertained the Toyota had previously been stolen from Essex.

Two men were arrested and remain in police custody. The vehicle and the van have been recovered and enquiries continue.
