Motorcyclist stopped by police for anti-social riding in Thorley Park flees on foot as officers discover bike is stolen
A motorcyclist stopped by police for riding anti-socially through Bishop’s Stortford fled after officers seized the motorbike and discovered it was stolen.
Officers from the intervention response team were carrying out routine patrols in Thorley Park between attending calls on Friday evening (April 11) when the rider caught their attention on Friedberg Avenue, near the junction with Ellenborough Close, at around 7pm.
A Hertfordshire police spokeswoman said: “Officers believed it to be suspicious due to the way it was being ridden and went to make some checks.
“They stopped the bike, but the rider ran off and it was confirmed as stolen. [We are] still making enquiries to ascertain where from and when, but it was on false plates.
“Attempts were made to find the rider, but he was not located, and we’re still making enquiries.”
