Boy, 13, issued with warning after riding electric motorbike in Bishop's Stortford town centre




A 13-year-old boy was stopped by police in Bishop's Stortford town centre while riding an electric motorbike.

The boy was stopped by a police community support officer (PCSO), issued with a Section 59 warning and his parents were spoken to.

Section 59 warnings are issued to those caught riding or driving illegally or in an anti-social manner.

If offenders do not subsequently reclaim their vehicles and pay storage or recovery fees within a set time, their vehicles can be crushed. Drivers/riders can also be reported for traffic offences.

Section 59 warnings cover both the vehicle and the driver or rider, meaning they can still be dealt with if caught using a different vehicle anti-socially.
