Man arrested after 40 packets of cocaine and cannabis, large quantity of cash and mobile phones found in car parked in Crescent Road




Police arrested a suspected drug dealer when 40 packets of cocaine and cannabis, cash and mobile phones were discovered in a vehicle in Bishop’s Stortford.

Officers on routine patrol on the night of Tuesday June 24 spotted a suspicious vehicle parked with its lights on in Crescent Road at 11.15pm and went to investigate.

Insp Mark Collins said: “Having spoken to the driver and ascertained that he didn’t live locally, and because of his suspicious nature and concerns around the vehicle, the vehicle and the driver were searched.

“They found 20 wraps of white powder, believed to be cocaine, and 20 individual bags of cannabis. The man was arrested under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

“A large quantity of cash and phones were located in the vehicle.”

The 49-year-old man, from north London, has been bailed until September 11 while police investigations continue.
