Loo of the Year Awards: Bishop's Stortford's Wetherspoon's pub the Port Jackson rated platinum
A Bishop's Stortford pub has won acclaim for the quality and standards of its toilets in the Loo of the Year Awards 2019.
The Port Jackson, the J D Wetherspoon pub in Riverside Wharf, was awarded a platinum rating by inspectors.
Loo of the Year Awards scrutineers make unannounced visits to thousands of toilets at sites across the UK in order to judge them.
The toilets are graded on a descending scale of diamond, platinum, gold or silver, with unacceptable ones not being graded at all.
They are judged on criteria including décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
The Port Jackson manager Nicole Cottage said: "Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in first-class condition at all times and it's great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
Loo of the Year Awards 2019 managing director Mike Bone said: "The toilets at the Port Jackson have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are clean and well maintained. The pub richly deserves its platinum award."
