Spellbrook Lane East to close for resurfacing by Hertfordshire Highways after drivers suffer punctures from potholes

A notorious section of road in Spellbrook which has led to drivers’ tyres punctured from potholes is due to be resurfaced.

Spellbrook Lane East will be closed on Wednesday (Mar 15) from 9.30am to 4pm for resurfacing work by Hertfordshire Highways.

Several drivers have reported their cars suffering punctures along the road with some of the holes hidden by puddles.

One driver hit a pothole on the way to Spellbrook car wash and had to wait for a mobile tyre fitter to repair the puncture.

Other drivers have suffered punctures around the Sawbridgeworth area with one woman, Josephine Quinton, having to nurse her car to the White Lion pub after two tyres burst when the car crashed down a pothole in Brook Road.
