Price Bailey win Bishop's Stortford BID's tenpin bowling tournament at Ace of Lanes
Bishop's Stortford businesses were bowled over by a team-building exercise.
The board of the town's new Business Improvement District (BID) organised a month-long tenpin bowling tournament for town centre companies at the Ace of Lanes alley in Anchor Street.
Over four weeks, teams from 12 businesses – Barrow LLP, Bishop's Stortford Chamber of Commerce, Click Click, Coco's, Elements, Jackson Square, Nockolds, Nockolds Wealth, Price Bailey, Snap Fitness, South Street Pantry and Urban Spa – battled it out.
The tournament culminated in a final featuring four teams: Dane Street neighbours Barrow LLP and Price Bailey – both of whom are chartered accountants and business advisers – and two teams from Market Square firm Nockolds, one of solicitors and the other of wealth managers.
BID chairman Karen Burton, of Karen's Cakes in Northgate End, and Elements and Urban Spa co-boss Perry Colman, who masterminded the contest, presented the winning Price Bailey team with a special cake crafted by Karen. Nockolds' teams were second and third with Barrow fourth.
BID manager Gina Thomas said: "It is hoped it will become an annual event, so look out for the 2020 tournament."
