Little Hadham Primary School pupils design bird boxes for new neighbourhood in Bishop's Stortford

Schoolchildren have decorated bird boxes for a new homes development in Bishop’s Stortford.

Taylor Wimpey North Thames, which is building the Coopers Grange neighbourhood opposite in Patmore Close, off Hadham Road, challenged pupils at Little Hadham Primary School to paint the boxes and picked three winners from 27 entries.

The creations by Olive, Bella and Ben will be installed as construction progresses. The trio of talented youngsters received gift vouchers for book shop Waterstones.

Taylor Wimpey North Thames sales and marketing director Nikki Gibson said: “We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to involve the local community in our developments, so we were delighted when Little Hadham Primary School agreed to take part in our bird box competition.

“All of the designs were absolutely fantastic and it's great to hear the children enjoyed the activity too. We’re really looking forward to seeing the winning bird boxes installed on the Coopers Grange development.

“Not only will we be providing brand new and stylish homes for Taylor Wimpey’s customers, but for the local birds too.”
