Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust appeals for artworks for new community diagnostic centre at St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping
The local NHS is appealing to artists to donate to the new West Essex community diagnostic centre for people in the Bishop’s Stortford area.
The building, at St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping, is due to open to patients next January.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT), which runs it, wants to introduce artwork that reflects the unit’s location on the edge of Epping Forest with trees, wildlife and peaceful landscapes to create a warm and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Tom Burton, chief finance and infrastructure officer at PAHT, said: “This is a unique chance for local artists to showcase their talent, gain exposure and donate artwork to a space that supports health, healing and community connections.
“All types of media will be considered, including paintings, illustrations, photography and mixed media.
“We look forward to working with local artists interested in supporting our new CDC at St Margaret’s. This amazing facility will support our local people, and we would love it to be made even more special with art from our local community.”
It is anticipated that the selected artwork will be put in place during November, ahead of the opening in January.
Artists should email chloe.rundall@nhs.net, alison.kingston-pack@nhs.net or i.kucuk@nhs.net by July 31 for more details.
