Princess Alexandra Hospital’s patient champion has been presented with a British Empire Medal.
Ann Nutt received the accolade in the King’s Birthday Honours in June and was invested at a ceremony at County Hall, Chelmsford.
She was presented with the medal on the monarch’s behalf by Lord Lieutenant Jennifer Tolhurst and the High Sheriff of Essex, David Hurst.
Ann is chair of the patient panel at PAH, a group of volunteers who represent patients, families and carers of the Harlow hospital.
She said after the ceremony: “I was delighted that my family were able to join me to witness such a joyous occasion and I feel incredibly honoured to have been awarded such a special and prestigious award.”
