St Clare Hospice launches its first ever Colour Run in Harlow
St Clare Hospice is inviting runners, joggers and walkers to sign up for its first ever Colour Run in Harlow.
Harlow Rugby Club, in Howard Way, will be transformed into a rainbow destination as participants make their way around the 5k (3.1-mile) route, being pelted with paint powders at colour stations.
The event takes place on Sunday June 1. There will be a warm-up before the field sets off at 11am, with food and drink available.
Rosie Brewer, from the hospice’s fundraising team, said: “Every penny raised – from ticket sales and participant sponsorship – will help fund the vital care provided by St Clare’s doctors, therapists, counsellors and nurses, both at our inpatient unit in Hastingwood and in people’s homes, where we support patients to be comfortable and close to loved ones.”
Tickets cost £20 for adults (18+), £15 for a child (4-17) and £50 for a family ticket (2 adults + 2 children or 1 adult + 3 children).
Spaces are limited and selling fast, so people are urged to sign up now at stclarehospice.org.uk/colourrun or to call 01279 773750.
St Clare is a charity providing specialist palliative care for people living with terminal or life-limiting illnesses in the West Essex and East Herts border area.
It cares for patients and their families, providing physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual support, and ensuring they have timely access to skilled, compassionate and sensitive care in a place of their choice.
The hospice’s services are free but cost around £8.1 million a year to run. With limited NHS funding, it needs to fundraise the majority of this amount each year through donations and other voluntary sources.
