Two men who have been in police custody for five weeks in connection with the theft of a Range Rover from Sawbridgeworth must spend another five weeks behind bars as they await their next court hearing.

Lithuanian duo Karolis Grinius and Eitvydas Laucys, both 22 and from Corby, Northants, are charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle.

The pair were arrested on September 28 after a Range Rover was stolen from Church Walk in Sawbridgeworth in the early hours that day.

Police quickly identified a suspect vehicle in the St Michael's Mead area of Bishop's Stortford and arrested two men. The Range Rover was also recovered.

Grinius and Laucys appeared at St Albans Crown Court on Monday (November 2). Their applications for bail were refused and they were further remanded in custody until their next court appearance on Wednesday December 9.
